I saw a blurb about burlap flowers yesterday and had to check out some tutorials. I really didn't completely follow the tutorial as I wanted a flatter flower, but I used the main ideas of stiffening the burlap with Modge Podge first then curling the edges up from this tutorial . I simply die cut the stiffened burlap sponged the curled edges and added a half pearl center. I thought the flower would be perfect for the circle sketch in today's sketch challenge. I had the card base already in the colors I wanted Crumb Cake embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper ef inked on the positive side with Bravo Burgundy. My largest circle is Burgundy embossed with the Argyle ef and sponged, the rear circle is Crumb Cake stamped with the Antique bg stamp inked with crumb cake and Soft Suede then stamped with the flower rock 'n rolled with suede and burgundy and sponged with burgundy. The floral piece is an advertising dp stamped with Riding Hood Red which is also the color of the lace ribbon piece. I ended up with 2 circles layered over the largest...the first is Soft Suede embossed with the Distressed Texturz plate and the smallest is the same as the rear floral with the sentiment in Bravo Burgundy and sponged on the edges.
