Congrats to Ali! I loved her gallery but I have to tell you, her wonderful sea of white is scary to me, lol. I love looking at CAS cards and ones w/ a lot of white space. but I have a real hard time doing that on my cards. When I see a lot of white space on my own cards, I start feeling shaky and nervous.
Anyway, I chose Ali's Butterfly. I kept the white space, color and layout but I added an embossing folder. ribbon and used different images.
I used images from 3 different Our Daily Bread designs sets. In order to get the right color, I used the 2 inks...first inking w/ the aquamarine then tapping the blue lagoon on top before stamping. I caved a little on the background. All the white space was a little too much for me so I added some texture. The embossing folder was used on the background, but I only embossed up to the border at the bottom.
It still felt a little unfinished, so I added the bow and ribbon and then the butterfly. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.
Thanks so much for looking! Congrats, Ali and Happy Easter, everyone! Close ups will be on my blog in just a bit: The Write Stuff

I know what you mean with the white space, I have troubles with them too. I keep thinking something should be there. but you cased Ali wonderfully, and it is sooo beautiful. I love that EF and the soft blue with the flowery decor...great job...TFs..:0)

This is beautiful. I can certainly relate, as I keep filling in white spaces - or embossing LOL! You used the space to perfection - and the blue is lovely. In my favorites...
