You know how sometimes you just can't get your vision of a card to come out? Well, this is one of those 3 tries later cards!!! I had pulled out this set yesterday thinking about using it for the spotlight technique, but didn't get a chance to use it. When I saw the color challenge colors (which seemed quite challenging indeed!) I decided to try the wrinkle free distress technique with the collage stamp. I ran my ink pads over a piece of acetate then spritzed with water and laid my card into the ink, dried with heat gun, then went back for more ink. I then stamped the image over this. I couldn't get my image quite dark enough (tried embossing, etc) then ended up going back to this panel and just using a marker to darken the lines. I also took my Itty Bitty Backgrounds splatter stamp to add some more to the bg and also the bg of the sentiment piece (which I sponged rather than use the technique again). I tore the image panel and mounted it on a piece of Chocolate Chip then tore again. I used an ef on the Pool Party piece which was meant to be the card base, but I was a bit crooked so I ended up cutting out around it and mounting it on a Chocolate Chip base. I am loving this dark, natural twine that I grabbed at the hardware store! I popped the sentiment and also the entire image panel.

I've got some of that type of twine too, and I love the natural, rustic look it gives - Gail, you created a pretty bg for your collage stamping (I love collages and don't own ANY collages images!) I really like the randomn dots the itty bitty provides!

Gail, what a lovely card. I especially like the colors that you used on your main panel....beautifully shaded. The embossing adds a wonderful texture and interest.

very pretty! i have this set, purchased at Goodwill for 99 cents, and have had difficulty getting it to stamp dark enough also. lots of faint little detail stuff in this stamp. i've tried many different inks too.
