Pop-up boutiques and restaurants are all the trend these days . With the CCEE Stampers challenge this week being a new house/new apartment card, I thought it was time to get out my paper-engineering books and work on a pop-up house. I know there are plenty of templates out there, but what's the point in having those books and not using them more than I do!!
Base is 5 3/4" square white card.
For the front I covered it with card embossed with Swiss Dots and with the edges distressed.
Neighbourhood wheel stamped on white card and coloured with watercolour pencils, Liquid Pearls for the doorknobs. I bordered it with SU's border punch and added a computer generated sentiment and faux brads.
For the inside, the grass is mulberry tissue sprinkled with punched flowers, and with a paper footpath up to the front door. I'd have liked to have it curving - but there's only so much you can do with about 5 square inches of a front garden . I added some embossed and sanded green card for bushes in the background - couldn't work them to pop up on their own, so they're just on tabs.
The house is a parallel cube pop-up cut from white card. Back and sides stamped with Thoughts and Prayers inked with markers, and HA Fanciful Filaments along the front. The roof is made with a scallop border punch and Basic Grey paper.
If you'd like to create a new house card this week, be sure to link it on the blog and use the keyword if you upload here so we can come and admire it.
