This week it is Holly's turn to host the sketch challenge, and she shared a great one. I used it as my jumping off point to make a card for several challenges going on here at Splitcoast! I started with the this week's Hump Day challenge over in the SNSS Member Company Forums, which is hosted by Bridget this week. She challenged us to use red and aqua on our cards. Ok, ok...mine is a little blue-er than aqua, but I think it still counts!
I created the background panel using the Vintage Postcard set (it's back in stock, so go get yours today!!) and hand stitched it to my patterned paper panels. Before doing that, I added some script from the Friendship Script set, and sponged the edges of the whole Kraft panel. That leads me to the next challenge I participated in.....the "more is more" fan club challenge for this month.
The stepped up version, shown here, is the one that fits Holly's sketch for this week; I turned the sketch on its side. I added lace tape from Love My Tapes and a sentiment from the True Friend set. It also works with the central theme for the Fan Club challenges (because I hand stitched on it) and the Word Play fan club challenge. To play along with this one you have to incorporate things on your project that have letters that spell the word SEWN. So....S (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps), E (Echo Park paper), W (White Lace), and N(new stamps). Not bad, huh? That is FIVE challenges, all from one (well, sort of two I guess) card!
You can see the minimal version of this card here.
You should make some time to play along - you'll have tons of fun!
