Today our TPT challenge is to make cards for the mother of the SCS web manager, Lydia (Understandblue.) Lydia is a kind, talented gal who gives much to SCS members. We thank you and love you for it Lydia! It was my pleasure and privilege to make a card for Lydia's mother, Virginia. For more details about this challenge, here is the link
Virginia loves burgundy and navy blue. I stamped my CHF Someday my Prince will come stamp in black Memories ink, then with Ranger distress markers, colored the dress aged mahogany w/brown and black highlights. The flower is white with a teeny clear rhinestone (could not get that to show on the picture-drats!) With a light hand, colored her tights with aged mahogany and white Prisma pencil to make a lighter shade. Shoes are black soot w/white Prisma watercolor pencil soles and dark umber lightly colored over the white soles. Colored her hair with distress markers, as well as, her skin-tone w/two Prisma pencils. Colored crown with silver embossing pen and when dry, carefully colored over it with Bic silver metallic pen, added rhinestones. Colored the woods and brick with several shades of Prima pencils, same with the water and the green vines and grass. (I altered the stamped image with a mask so I could eliminate the sentiment and make it water. Cat is a MFT PI stamp. She sports a royal rhinestone (same that is on the crown) collar. Mounted focal image on SU N of N cardstock panel, used SU dimensionals to add to Authentique toile wallpaper dp, then mounted that onto another SU N of N panel and attached it to a Michael's white card base. Decorated inside with more toile wallpaper and I will add a stack of books and probably another kitten. Note that for the basic coloring, I tried to use the "feather" technique. It worked out okay but practice makes perfect. Hee!
THANKS for looking! I look forward to seeing all of your cards in Teapotter gallery later today!
