I just found a heart to use as a template, traced and cut them out of cardstock and a piece of clear, colored vinyl (that I got at Joanns) the same size. Then, I used the decorative scissors to trim the outside of the cardstock heart and the vinyl heart (just a little inside the bigger cardstock heart). I stamped a little on the cardstock and also on the back (Happy Valentines Day stamp and a To/From stamp right in the middle, so it is inside the lacing). Then, I took a punch and punched an even number of punches (just eyed it) around the outside but not too far in, so that the candy would fit inside) and my daughters and I laced them up leaving a space to stuff them with a few pieces of candy and tied the ribbon in a bow on top.
I had planned to use my sizzix large heart to punch the hearts out but it wasnt big enough. They look really big in the pictures but they are about 5 inches across. Also, I noticed at Michaels the other day that they have foam hearts that would work in place of the cardstock. It would save the time of cutting out the cardstock hearts.
