I made this for today's ways to use it challenge. We were to use borders or die cuts, or both for our cards.
First I stamped my image, "lovely as a tree". Just got this set and have been waiting to ink it up! I used basic grey as the color. Then I matted using basic grey.
I knew I wanted night of navy, found some nesties and used my cb to create the border around the image. At first I tried a smaller piece of cs in kraft but didn't like it, so I decided to do some faux stitching as an extra "border" layer to my piece.
I first went around the main image, then I decided I wanted to embellish the frame itself, so I went around with my white gel pen around the edges of the frame.
I grabbed a piece of ivory cs and decided it was too plain so I ran it thru the cb using a striped ef to create some texture.
I liked the look but then I realized it still needed something, so I grabbed a glue pen and my dazz diamonds and went to town on the trees and the ground of my main image.
I really like this card. I think it is visually interesting with texture and shine. Some guy would love it! Of course, I don't have a guy, but who knows, maybe in the future! LOL!
tfl and enjoy your day!
