This card is for the Weekly Alphabet Challenge and will be sent to our great niece for her first birthday. The last challenge of 2011 was a surprise one, as we await the start of Round 3 in 2012. It debuts tomorrow! Stamping through the alphabet is challenging & so much fun! For this challenge, we were to CASE Ashdale as she was the last one to post before the challenge was given. Below is a link to Lisa’s beautiful card which so inspired the making of my cupcake card.
As for a proper CASE, I made changes, but kept the basic layout which I really liked. I used a cupcake stamp instead of the very cute image on Lisa’s card and I changed the colors to mostly pink instead of blue. My cupcake layer has a decorative border only at the bottom, although I liked how Lisa did hers around all the sides. This layer is raised up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I kept the polka dots on the second layer, but with a different paper. Used Rock-n-Roll technique on the candle. Oh, I like how this turned out, thanks to inspiration from Lisa! The birthday girl’s mother is a stamper, so she’ll be so impressed, but I’ll have to confess that it was a CASE and not a complete original. She will like it nonetheless, as she loves to receive hand stamped cards as I do. TFL and have a Happy New Year filled with stamping!
