Just when I thought things were going to get better Mr Holtz in his wisdom has released a new pinecone die! Oh man.....and I just have to have it. LOL By the time it gets to my area it will be July and I want it now!! So I decided to try something else. We all have those edged scissors sitting on the top shelf gathering dust. I picked through several thousand of them and found an edge I liked and cut a spiral from cardstock just following the easy video on his blog. The die also can make a rose which looks like a good idea.

Man, I looked at that die too! I like this; it's very realistic looking. Maybe I'll give it a try before forking out more cash. (actually at this time of the year there isn't much cash left to fork! LOL) Thanks for the idea.

I like the way it turned out. However, it takes forever for things to reach me in Hogwallow too. I buy on line at Archievers, Hobby Lobby and Jo-Ann. Sign up for the online coupons and you won't have to wait. Best of luck.

Thank you for sharing this. I am not able to buy many of the more expensive crafting supplies like dies, so I'm always looking for ways to achieve similar looks with what I already have. I think your pinecone looks great and I will definitely be trying it.
