I've wanted to try the Herringbone technique for some time, and as it's the tutorial in today's Inkling, that was enough to give me the push I needed.
Will replace with a daylight photo tomorrow if the weather forecast is accurate!
I followed the tutorial, using a sheet of double-sided adhesive stuck to card for my base.
All papers Basic Grey Eva.
I didn't want to cover it up, so I added a branch and leaves cut with a Dienamics die and an SU two-step bird sponged with blue. Wing embossed with a music ef and sponged again. Branch and bird up on foam dots. I added a thank-you sentiment stamped and sponged with ColorBox Pigment Merlot (also used on base and herringbone panel), and popped it up on foam with a couple of silver half-pearls.

Terrific technique! I saw this in the Inkling as well and thought I might actually try to do it. I am sooo not a technique person. Your card is beautiful! Love that little birdie with his musical wing!
