Wow! I am so excited and honored to be greeting you from the Dirty Dozen! I was SO shocked when I got LydiaÂ’s voice mail asking me to call her back. I honestly had NO CLUE what she wanted and the Dirty Dozen did not even occur to me! I waited somewhat patiently for her to call back and was stunned when she asked me to be a Dirty Girl, of course I said yes, and now here I am!!!
HereÂ’s a little bit about me... My name is Jen Shults, IÂ’m 36 and IÂ’m married to a very patient and supportive husband. We have two adorable little ones that keep me on my toes. We live in a suburb of Kansas City and have lived here all our lives. I currently teach middle school art to 7th and 8th graders. My background is in pencil drawing, mainly portraits, with a bit of dabbling in computer graphics here and there. I also taught a year of high school pottery.
I started stamping in the spring of 2009. I had been introduced to StampinÂ’ Up a few years before that by a fellow teacher but it didnÂ’t really click with me until I met a group of crafters that were doing Twilight based challenges. Many of them were card makers and after seeing all of their wonderful creations I was bitten, so to speak. ;) Always a crafter at heart, I spent a few years before stamping dabbling in jewelry design and crochet. I still do a bit of free lance portrait drawing when I have time. I also LOVE to art journal and recently just added it to my middle school curriculum and am having a BLAST teaching it to my 8th graders.
IÂ’ve been a big Dirty Dozen and Splitcoast fan for a very long time, almost as long as IÂ’ve been stamping. This is always my go to place when I need a bit of stamping mojo and I have a long list of galleries that I stalk with regularity. IÂ’m still so shocked and amazed to be in the company of so many FABULOUS designers and IÂ’m so excited for the opportunity and challenge to create for you all!
