I just couldn't seem to find the time to finish a card this week until now, which meant that each time I had a few minutes at my desk I added a feature from whatever the latest challenge was. So this card is for three challenges: colour challenge 347 (More Mustard, Always Artichoke, and Bravo Burgundy); sketch challenge 357; and ways to use it challenge 347 (newspaper). I'd originally started working on the poppy image as a telescoping image for Monday's CAS challenge, but I don't think it quite fits. Anyway, I stamped the poppy in black on kraft, then sponged with burgundy. I did this twice and cut out one flower, and three petals from the other flower, and layered the petals over the first (after scrunching them all up a bit to give them more texture.) The brad I made myself with the build-a-brad kit and a bit of tiny music paper I printed off the computer. The black centre was made of 3 punched scalloped circles that I spritzed with water, scrunched, dried, and pulled into shape (a la Tim Holtz.) There is a tiny bit of Always Artichoke dp at the top of the border, and a piece of newspaper that I scallop-punched and sponged with More Mustard and Bravo Burgundy. I took the photo yesterday in a nice burst of afternoon sunshine- a rare treat this time of year! Sorry for the big shadows as a result. So there it is- glad I finally got to submit something this week, even if it took me the WHOLE week!!
