I had to push the envelope on the faux stitching. I stamped the flower onto a scrap piece of paper, put it over the cardstock and punched holes along the outline. Then I drew in my "crewel" stitches.
Then, just to push it a little farther, I did the same with the Happy Birthday using a faux backstitch. Of course, at that point I finished with a faux zigzag.
The background is my new favorite combination of Canvas and Crosshatch, which, I think, looks great with these "stitched" cards.
