This is my long, tall card for the November Creative Crew challenge. I love doing 3-1/4 x 6-1/2 cards (you can see plenty more in my gallery!), so this was the first challenge I tackled.
The idea of the white Santa mustache came after leafing through a Paper Crafts magazine. The mustache used on the card was a chipboard piece, I believe, but I thought, Hey, we have a stamp for that now! So I embossed the mustache with white powder on white cardstock and hand-cut it, then used the Timeless Type dies to spell Ho Ho Ho out of Olive cardstock.
I tied some Cherry Cobbler baker's twine around the cardstock and added a Plum button and a mini jingle bell at the top. You can't really tell in the picture, but I used textured cardstock for the letters and background for added interest, and I stamped the red cardstock with the Serene Snowflakes set, a personal Christmas staple.
The color combo came straight from the Color Coach. While I didn't use the old version very much, I am loving the new one!
I think this turned out really cute, if I may say so me'self! I like how the mustache stamp takes on a brand-new look when paired with white embossing powder and makes it more versatile. I thought this stamp was cute from the get-go, but was wondering what I could possibly make with it. Now, I'm loving it more and more!
TFL!
