Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating reaching 500 members on Papercraft Planet. Part of the celebration is a week-long steampunk progressive challenge. This first challenge - create a project with Steampunk Josephine using metal embellishments. Post and link your creation by Monday, 8 pm PST (tonight) and you will receive image #2 in the challenge.
Josephine was a fun image to work with. She is colored with Copic markers and a few dabs of gold gel pen and Star dust Stickles, then popped up with dimensional foam tape.
The gears are made from Tim Holtz's Gadget Gears die and Spellbinder's Sprightly Sprockets set of dies. These are all heat embossed with PSX Detail Brass and Detail Platinum embossing powders and popped up with dimensional foam tape. The metal embellishments added are the gold flower and 2 spirals on top of the gears. I don't know where they came from - they've been in my stash for years just waiting for the right project. I added a dab of Stickles in the center of each of them.
The papers used are by DCWV - Tradewinds and Textures & Finishes. The top corner flower is cut out and glued down. The bottom corner flowers and compass rose are cut with a craft knife, but still attached to the map paper allowing me to insert the piece of design paper with the radiating starburst behind the flowers. Both papers are sponged lightly around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. These are matted on metallic gold paper from the Textures & Finishes design paper stack.
A fun challenge and great party celebration at Sassy Studio Designs. Congratulations on reaching 500 members on paper Craft Planet. Thanks for the fabulous Steampunk Josephine freebie.
