 | | I made my card specifically for my sweetheart. We are a musical family, going back to my grandmother, who had a degree to teach music. Unusual for a young woman in the early part of the twentieth century. Two of my four siblings majored in music, including me, and that is where I met my sweetheart. He is one of the finest musicians I know. Being a typical boy from Milwaukee in the 50's, he first took accordion lessons, then majored in clarinet. He has always disparaged his piano playing ability. The accordion gave him a great right hand, not so much a great left hand. He is a fabulous accordionist (no polkas please!) and is playing a gig right now as I type this. So, dear Tom, even though you don't think you are a good pianist, you're better than most and I know you're doing your best. |
