 | | I looked at Lee's inspiration photo for today, and when I stopped giggling and tried to get inspired, the cupcake on the right reminded me - goodness knows why - of berries. So I pulled out an old Flourishes stamp, and threw in a lace frill for good measure.
Thank goodness this goes into the HYCCT gallery, because the background is a failed attempts at the Crayon Rubbed Embossing technique from the Inkling a couple of weeks back, and I'd never had had the nerve to upload it to that gallery. (On the trail for a firmer white crayon now to have another go- a tall order!).
A2 base covered with some deep pink/cranberry paper. I stitched my failed crayon background on with green thread. Flourishes image stamped on watercolour paper with Versafine Black and coloured with H2Os. I was at the very end of the colouring when a stray hair on my brush smudged along a stem and I had to turn it over and start again from scratch. Sentiment from Pocket Silhouettes. I rounded two corners, sponged the edges with Moss Green and added some ruffled lace along the back edge. It's layered onto a piece of thin chipboard covered with more of the base paper, and fixed up on foam dots. I added some green bling just to finish it off. |
