Jen gave us the theme of "Leaves" for the CAS Challenge today.
My photo is deceiving. The leaf coloring is NOT on the top of the card, but on the back partof the inside(where you might normally stamp a sentiment). I die cut the leaf shape out of the front of the card....a leaf-shaped hole. On a separate piece of paper, I used TH stains and colored a square which I adhered to the back side of the inside(again, where you might stamp a sentiment). On the outside I ran my gray Copic around some of the cut edges for shading.....I think this little detail is what is causing the optical illusion. In the photo that all came off as a popped up colored image! One has to remember, a camera is taking a 3-D object and making it a 2 dimensional one.

Oh, Sallie, I love your leaf. Your coloring is amazing and looks so realistic. What an amazing technique left your coloring bleed through. Will have to give this a try. Love it.

Beautiful leaf, nice card described card design! You're right, the pic does show the leaf as on top of the card, complete with shadows. Sometimes photos are a bleep to take, aren't they? Heehee! Regardless, it's a lovely card.

So pretty Sallie...funny how our cameras can't always capture the real deal. Sounds like a fun technique and you got such pretty variation of color on your square!

Doesn't it just drive you crazy when the camera is deceptive??! Gorgeous leaf....wish we were seeing the real thing!
