Well, I titled my card Simple Wishes, but it really wasn't simple at all! I have had a card in mind since Sunday when I wore a Navy dress with a floral print that was also in blue tones with white accents. I know just what stamp set would work for a more direct translation, but I went with what I had to work with which is the 2 step stamping hostess set Simply Soft. I had thought about using the chalkboard technique so I was pleasantly surprised when that was the Ways to Use it Challenge for back to school week three. I began by stamping the solid part of the images in Whisper White on Night of Navy cs. Instead of pencils, I used chalks because I had specific colors in mind for the blues. I colored with Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist and Bashful Blue with River Rock centers and also used some White chalk and a few highlights of Pacific Point. I then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to overstamp the outline images with Versamark and Night of Navy ink. These were then embossed in clear. I had to do a little masking as well because I had left too much space between the first flowers I stamped and wanted to fill in a bit.
Once I had the panel completed, I initially thought I'd do some framing with some of the blues, but ended up liking the look better against just the White...I added some scoring, a ribbon, and a sentiment and was (finally) done!

This blue floral is fabulous! It reminds me of a delicate piece of hand painted china or some fabric..I remember having a dress out of a blue print like this when I was young....so, so pretty...great technique!

Love it! I can just imagine how pretty your dress is too! Isn't it funny what things can inspire you to make a card? The blue tones on your card are amazing!
