This is for Nicole’s Blending Modes digi challenge [DGC063]. We were to use blending modes (yeah, that's definitely digi-speak), a 3-element cluster and 3 circles. For “gold stars” we could make our layout look like it's a few trinkets and photos laying on a desk and scrap on an angle. I didn’t put my papers on an angle, but at least one photo is.
I started with an enlarged photo for the background then added an overlay w/reduced opacity. I then used a number of different PSE9 blending modes using various digi-papers, changing textures, adding scrap-sized papers, reduced opacities and blending options. I had fun playing, but I canÂ’t tell you exactly what I did, nor could I duplicate it! I also blended in several circles, including the large blue one behind the pics and the circle around my DGD in the left photo. If you look closely, youÂ’ll see several others around the page.
Unfortunately, I donÂ’t have the names of all of the kits/designers of some of the elements & blended papers, but here are most of the credits:
Circles, button, polkadot paper: Me, Myself and I-Lauraskathi.
Blue glitter paper: Diva Kit-Sugar Kissed Designs
Quote: Wild Sorbet-Michelle Coleman.
Scattered flowers--New England Summer-Danielle Engebretson.
green circles behind text-Simply Citrus-Snips & Snails.
Ribbons: Carnival Thrills-Julie Billingsley.
Font [date]: GeoSlab703 Xbd BT.
This was fun and I enjoyed experimenting with the different modes and seeing what I came up with. Blending modes are definitely an adventure and full of surprises! Thanks, Nicole!

Love the quote (and you did it in Blue-like the park and her outfit! ) Love the blended photo and all the elements you used. Lots to look at and enjoy. I like the way the pics are framed too.

Wow, another great layout! Thanks for explaining some of the things you did to get this result. It all looks so well put together, so it was fun to have you deconstruct it.
