F4A80 The Smith Family WT338
Added to Favorite
xxxx

Photo Details
Poster: gabalot

I had to try one more criss-cross ... as a frame for The Smith Family picture. :) I used Maile's (love her designs!) PTI die to cut the vine pieces for the frame. I painted this card for last Thursday's WT challenge but never finished it. So ... it's for both challenges. The stamps are SU Monster Mania from 2002. Family name sign is computer generated. I never thought I'f find a use for these OLD, white KI chipboard puzzle pieces but-- whoo-hoo--I added a little Ranger distress vintage photo and they were good to go!

I want to share two things I discovered when making this card. First, water coloring over white poster board paint that has been painted on black cardstock doesn't work--every color turns murky and dark. Second, you can correct it by directly coloring over it with your Prima watercolor pencils.

Also, one TIP: I have used this monster stamp set MANY times and I think I've always personalized the sign. I ink up the entire stamp, then use a cotton swab (Q-tip) to carefully wipe off only the words (dont' take the frame with it!) That takes a minute so I "huff" on the stamp to make sure no part has dried. The stamp may end up smelling like my breath that reeks of cherry popsicles (my FAV food!) but I think the monsters like it ... heehee!

THANKS for looking! Your comments are appreciated. :)

I dont which is better ~ your story or your card! I have never seen this image, but what you've done with it is just phenomenal. How fun to use the puzzle pieces and add the smith family. I'm assuming smith is your last name? What a great card and some great tips too ... if only I could remember them.
