I wanted to make a thank you card to a mentor and she loves blue and yellow together... and she quilts so I wanted something that resembled a starburst quilt kind of thing.
There's probably an easier way to do this but I cut a blue and yellow rectangle, adhered them both right side up together with removable adhesive, put a dot somewhere off center and proceeded to cut through the dot with my paper trimmer. Then I removed the glue and alternated between the two sets of paper onto a slightly larger blue rectangle. At least I got two backgrounds out of it! Then I machine stitched around the edges.
Then I cut my ovals with my cricut and stamped my verse on. I embossed with a stylus and brass stencil (I really need/want to get an embosser!) the empty white space on the oval and the leaves are also polka dot embossed.
