I did a crackled paint technique with school glue. Fun and easy. The hardest part is the drying time.
Directions: Paint chipboard with a base color of acrylic paint. Let dry. Now paint it with a layer of white school glue (think Elmer's). Wait a few minutes until the glue gets tacky and then paint top color (the one that will crackle) on top of the glue. Let dry overnight and you will have a crackled chipboard to work with. The amount of glue you use, weather conditions, the amount of paint on top all affect the way that it crackles, so experiment.
