Last fall I made a whole bunch of focal images for Christmas cards using brass stencils and embossing paste. My goal this month is to use them up and create cards for SCS Christmas Card Challenge. Then I'll have one less little pile of card pieces sitting on my desk!!
This one is a Lasting Impressions stencil on shimmery blue cardstock, embossed with white paste and covered in glitter. I also used an embossing folder on the cardbase. For the sentiment, I heat embossed with a sparkly embossing powder. IRL this is a very sparkly card! Hard to capture in a photo!
I used one of my new Grommet Tags for the sentiment but instead of a grommet or a brad, I put gemstones over the holes to create the illusion of something attaching it.
I just realized this card uses three different embossing techniques - dry, heat, and paste!

Wow! I have had this stencil for years and never made anything that looked as lovely as this. Thanks for the inspiration! I will have to go and revisit it!
I like this card very much! I am a beginner and don't have a very good variety of stamping items yet. I have been scratching my head this afternoon trying to figure out how to make some Christmas cards with my limited supplies. I am going to borrow some of your ideas! I don't have an embosser so my card front will be plain but I have some Martha Stuart snowflake tape that I am going to use! I have been trying to think of how to use it! Thanks so much!
