Love this sketch, and it worked perfectly for this idea. DS was just accepted in a Masters Degree program at the University of Arkansas and was awarded a graduate assistantship. He has worked very hard to meld his skills in two fields (marine biology and GIS mapping) and it has finally really paid off. Just got this image and ribbon from SU, so I melded them to a card that I hope that he finds special.
Stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black on Colormates Peaches & Cream and colored the sail with a white gel pen. Stamped the sentiment on Flourishes White CS on more black, then stamped the ships wheel from SU Schooner in Versamark. Rounded the corners then adhered to the image panel. Folded the Marina Mist ribbon in half and added the sailors knot that mnfroggie showed us how to make: http://mnfroggie.blogspot.com/2011/0...lors-knot.html
Mounted all on a Marina Mist card that had rounded corners. PT - 8
Thank you so much for looking. Have a peaceful day.

Beautiful, beautiful card! The color choices work so well together, very serene and your rope detail with that awesome knot is just perfect. I'm sure DS will love it. TFS

That is one of my all time favorite quotes Marie and paired with this calm sea scene takes this to another level. What beautiful work and love the sailor's knot! My DH is a retired sailor and I still don't know how to do one of them!

Love the knot, the verse, the image. Great card - wonderful way to pat your son on the back for his accomplishment! Huge congrats to him! My son is the GIS mapping coordinator for the county where he works - GIS was an option he enjoyed when he did his Environmental Science degree and now it's his full-time job!
