I started with a base of Night of Navy, the first layer is generic white then real red. My image layer is on Whisper White. I punched two stars using punches from SU. One in red the other in white glitter paper from my stash. I tried doing the stripes several ways. I ended up using a finger dauber. I liked it the best. I didn't want everything perfect on here. Then I used a Cricut Cart, A Year of Children. I glued the children waving their flags on here. The inside has red paper. I used my Cricut and cut out Let Freedom Ring.
This is for The Twisted Sistah's. Pat Smethers came up with the challenge and it was to make an Americana card with NO PINK! If you would like to play along with us be sure to use the keywords TSC0701. We would love to have you!
Pat this was fun and a real challenge since I have no Patriotic stamps! Shame on me.
I also played along with Shirt. The challenge was dust off the old Cricut and make a card.

Oh Sylvia- way to go Sister! What a look of freedom, and children portray that so well! (This is also perfect for Shirley's CCEE from Thurs- you should add it, it is sooo cute! The keywords are CCEE1126.) Love your star and the beautiful distressing! Well done! Hugs....

I really love the way your strips look! Very perfect for this patriotic card! I like the idea of the children playing against the flag. Freedom is for the little ones especially. Lovely card, Sylvia!

This is awesome, I love your stripes you made with the dauber-very creative. The silhouette is so cute, I really like silhouettes. Every card with one, grabs my attention in the gallery. How cool that your card qualifies for the CCEE challenge, too. I am so thrilled you joined us. Thanks.

This card is so wonderful and speaks to the freedoms that those before us and those brave men and women are fighting for now. I really love the children on it.

Just think, if you had patriotic stamps - you would probably not have come up with this! This is fabulous with the silhouetted kids and the direct to paper flag. I love it!

The soldiers keep everyone free - generation to generation - and those little kids represent exactly that! What a lovely and perfect card for this challenge - adorable silhouette!

Oh Sylvia,
Wow, your card just grabbed my heart - the image of children running and waving their flags of freedom!! That silhouette is wonderful and I love how you "mafde " your flag stripes - very creative!!
So sorry to be just arriving, but am glad to be back on my computer to join everyone in the celebration today for Independence!
