I chose July 24, Cousins Day, for my card. My best friend was my cousin Christy. She and I had great memories as children and we continued to build memories into our adult lives once we married and had children. I won't be able to give this card to her, because she passed away in Jan. after a 9 year battle with breast cancer, but it was nice just to make a card in her memory (she is the one in the black dress in my profile pic). For Christmas this year (a week before she died) she gave me a picture frame that said, "Cousins by chance, friends by choice". So, I typed up that saying and added it to my card. :)

Your card is such a beautiful tribute to your cousin! Your story touched me in so many ways & I'm so sorry that your cousin & dear friend lost her battle! Brought a tear to my eye! That image is beautiful and your coloring is fantastic! Love your card!

Oh, what a beautiful card in Christy's honor. I am sure many tears were shed as you made this, but what a sweet way to pay tribute to Cousins Day. You should frame this and put it in your crafting space in a place of honor. Thank you for sharing such a sweet memory with all of us!
