For the CAS125 challenge - Red, Black, and White - I chose poppies for my image which I coloured with Twinkling H2Os after heat embossing them with the Black Ice ep. I cut out the image with a Nesties circle. Then I used the same ep for the sentiment and cut it out with a ribbon tag which I mounted on my background red cardstock with sheer red ribbon.
I wanted to mount the image on a black bordering circle but rather than using black cardstock, I decided to use a technique I'd recently watched on an older Gina K video tutorial:
I rubbed the outer edge of my bordering circle with Versamark and then heat embossed it with the same glittery ep as I'd used for my stamping. It's a great technique that I'll use again.

Very pretty. I like the brightly colored poppies. I would like to use bolder colors, but I tend to stay with more subtle or pastel. Thanks so much for the link to the metallic edge tutorial. I will try that soon.
