This card uses a variety of color techniques. I designed this card for my first experience teaching a stamping class at Ben Franklin - our local stamping and craft store. It was inspired by a photo my DH took the other evening of one of the most vibrant pink and purple sunsets I have ever seen.
It's hard to see from the photo, but the peacock is embossed in detail silver embossing powder as well as the frame outlining the oval that to me looks like a sunset. The peacock was first stamped with Versamark on black cardstock. After embossing I colored the open areas with color pencils. The oval is made using alcohol inks on glossy cardstock, before embossing the frame. The two trees are stamped in StazOn black on a background made by using Distress Ink Reinkers on glossy cardstock and blotting off the excess. Silver gel pen was used for the dots around the trees. The sky is sponged using scalloped circle masks with both Brilliance and Distress inks. The bottom half is sponged with Distress Inks. Star Dust Stickles were added to the peacock's tail and around the trees as a finishing touch.
Thanks for looking.
