This is a gradution purse card that I made for my cousin's daughter who is graduating this year. I used a 9 x 5 piece of black cardstock. I folded this piece in half and scored the bottom 3/8" from the mid fold on both sides to create the bottom of the purse. I then made a not quite true diamond shape for the top part of the graduation cap. Be careful to leave the top part, do not cut it at the fold. This piece is 7 x 5 1/2" long, then you fold it in half and cut out a diamond shape. The Tassel is made of polyester decorative trim that I just cut in equal length pieces and tied together at the top leaving a small piece to use to adhere to the middle of the cap. I then used a string of small beads to create 2011. It is a purse card, so when you open it up there is a congrats sentiment and a small envelope for a gift card attached. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for sharing some directions for this card. I saw this card somewhere else and I made a paper template to follow, but I had difficulty making mine stand upright. I will try it again with your dimensions. I think this is such a neat graduation card! Thanks again.
