Created to play along with this week's Shining Light Challenge to create a card using embedded embossing. This is a totally new technique to me, and I LOVE it! Check out the Our Daily Bread blog for the "how to".

I used ODB's On Eagles' Wings set. I love the majestic eagle, and positioned Him on the sky blue panel as flying to our Lord represented by the sun. The verse from Exodus says it all. Both in life and in death He will bring us to Himself. And what a ride!
The embossing floder I used is "Cracked" by Tim Holtz. I stamped the eagle on kraft cardstock using VersaFine vintage sepia and cut him out. I used the same ink for the verse, stamped on white and partially cut out with my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Labels Ten die to fancy up the ends, and lightly distressing around the edges using Ancient Page sandlewood. The sun was cut out of a piece of scrap yellow using a Spellbinders scalloped circle die.
I am happy with this card and will send it to a close friend who recently lost her husband.

I am sorry for your friend's loss and yours too.
Obviously a lot of thought went into this card, in the selection of papers, embossing folder and colours chosen. The eye follows the embossing, the line of sight of the eagle and is drawn to the the sun, all balanced by the quote on brown matting.

Hi Mary!
This card is great! I saw it over at ODBD. I just love how the cracked part looks like rays from the sun flowing over the eagle in flight. I am so sorry that your friend is grieving. This card will be a wonderful source of comfort to her.
