I would rather cut than color--so I am fast at it. I realized after I started this that I would have to hurry to get it done within the time limit. What I did to hurry: used almost exclusively scraps on the table instead of being picky and finding just the right papers. (It was a good way to use up scraps!) Also, I used marker in several places where I would normally have paper pieced--in fact I used marker to cover up a couple of cutting boo-boos. Also I didn't add texture or embellishments or dimensionals as I usually would have. Finally, I didn't do the treasure chest over--and I didn't like the way it turned out. I got too much ink on it when I was distressing it--but it is Faux Wood and fits the challenge.
I call the way I make the clouds *pinky clouds* because I dip my pinky on my white ink pad and swirl it around on the blue to make the clouds.
