It is kind of hard to post today after all the devastation in my state from the tornadoes. Most of my family lives in Tuscaloosa, AL (2 1/2 hrs. from me) and Huntsville, AL. (2 hrs. away) I'm sure you have seen the damage there. Thankfully, they are safe. But, so many of the wonderful places I visit are gone. But, most important are the lives lost.
On to my card..the Stampin' B's hostess this week is Joanne/jojot. She asked that we do a monochromatic with blues...and paper piecing. Guess who forgot about the paper piecing??? You got it....ME. My butterflies are stamped twice, cut out, and popped up. O.K., that can count....NO RULES, right?
We would love for you to join the Stampin' B's this week. Just add the keyword, StampinB

Oh, I'd *definitely* say that your popped up butterflies count for paper piecing on this glorious card, Benzi!! I just can't get over how pretty those sparkly butterflies are. I'm so glad that you were kept safe from the tornadoes, but dealing with the destruction and loss elsewhere must be so sad. I'm thinking o f you and your family.

Benzi, I saw the devastation this morning and quite frankly was worried sick about you. How awful. My heart goes out to you girlfriend. I know it must be a shock. I just feel better right now knowing you are OK. Your card by the way-as that is what I came here for- is luscious! Those sparkley butterflies are amazing. I love your background paper. I bought the small pad of that at Micheal's myself. I thought the designs were gorgeous. Great minds think alike!!!

Brenda, I am glad to hear that your loved ones are safe. The loss of lives and devastation is just heart wrenching.
Your card is beautiful. I love the soft images of the background and the butterflies are just wonderful. The lacy corners add so much elegance. Absolutely gorgeous.

I have watched a bit of the reporting from your area and it is so heartwrenching to hear the stories of the devastation and deaths.......one story in particular brought me to tears...a simple story but I am sure one repeated with many families...this father was describing his good fortune that he and his children made it to safety in a basement....and after the storm had passed he walked up the stairs to open air where his house should have been.....I cannot imagine how one feels when this happens....or worse......we get hurricanes up here, but there is long term warning it is coming and in general, the devastating storms are few and far between.....I can't imagine living in tornado areas, especially this year....there have been so many........you keep safe, my friend......
AND...by the way...your card is so elegant.....I just love it and surely your butterflies are a type of paper piecing. ANd, besides...we have no rulz......and the gorgeousness far overcomes any missing element.....wonderful work, my friend

This card is absolutely beautiful and inspires a feeling of sentimentality. Love the softness of it & the colors are superb!
I also liked the peeking through embossing.
