To Celebrate Earth Day at the Jingle Belles blog this week making a holiday card that features recycling.
Who knew that having a week-long cold could lead to a creative discovery. After going through several boxes of ultra-soft Kleenex, I picked up a box with Vicks & Lotion to soothe my oh-so-sore nose. When I finished the box two-days later, and tore it down to recycle, I discovered that the inside was a wonderful metallic silver chipboard ... bonus!
I ran a piece of the chipboard through my Cuttlebug embossing it with snowflakes. I tried punching out a snowflakes, but couldn't get the punches through the thicker chipboard (note to self ... get some snowflake die cuts), so I settled for a scalloped circle to frame my sentiment.
In keeping with the "going green" theme, I used green designer paper for my background. My snowman was stamped in green with some silver metallic pencil coloring on his scarf and hat. I added a tiny bit of light blue Copic marker underneath the snowman to ground him a bit.
I added some grey pearls to his bell, and silver tiles (with a tiny snowflake rub-on) to the bottom for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch. My sentiment is also a rub-on.
If you're ready to take back December one holiday card at a time ... come join our Jingle Belles fun.

Who knew inspiration would come from a Kleenex box. Great find though, my tissue boxes are just plain old brown cardboard inside. Beautiful card. I love all the silver accents.
