This week's challenge of Grungy Monday was color washes. A fabulous product, but extremely messy :-) Since I have company this week, I decided on a quick project -dyeing silk and lace and making a flower brooch. I used stream, denim, bottle, and wild plum and washed it out to get a light blue/purple color - very vintage. I cut out several circles of differing sizes and singed the edges with a candle. And I learned that fire disentigrates lace. I sewed a Tim button onto the layers for the center and put a pin/lobster clasp on the back.

This is to-die-for gorgeous, Sarah! I can imagine so many different ways to use it, not only in crafting but also for clothing embellishment. What a brilliant approach to the Color Wash Challenge. I'm going to make some of these myself! Thanks for inspiring me, again!
