It is a flight to Washington DC for veteran's from WWII. The money is raised by the communities for the flight. Each person, has an escort, either a family member or one provided, who does this at his own cost. They fly out early in the morning and spend the day at the WWII monuments and come home late at night. In the East and Midwest, it is a one day trip. The West coast is a two day trip. It is a very special day for these veteran's. Then on their flight home, there is 'MAIL CALL" for them, which they do not know they will be receiving. We all have to send cards addressed to them to a special address, up to two weeks before they go so they can be sorted, etc. They are so excited to get all this mail addressed to them telling them 'THANKS' for serving their country.
