I have been avoiding all my Christmas stuff so far this year - I totally over did it at Christmas 2010 (at least for me) and I didn't really want to even look at anything related to Christmas. Then I got this super cool book on making paper flowers from Joan's Garden, and I had to try and make the pine cone in the book (The book is called Paper Bouquets by Susan Tierney Cockburn). I know it looks like a brown rose instead of a pinecone, but I didn't have any of that molding clay or paste or whatever she used so I had to try and do it a different way. I still think it is cool and my next one will be much better as I will get off my lazy butt and actually get my tweezers instead of trying to use my small sissors to do things. After I finished it, it just seemed to scream for a snowman image. My DH gave me this image for Christmas (isn't he a doll?).
I tried to find some Christmas ornaments to use as a prop in my picture, but DH had finally put them in the attic so I had to use this snowgirl from my permanent snowperson display. Isn't she cute?
PT - 25 (and I double counted Pamzi - there are a couple on the bottom of the pine cone for support)

Known what you mean about avoiding the Christmas themed stuff! :-) I figure maybe in August I'll get motivated. On the other hand your beautiful card has got me thinking ...

Oh Nancy I envy the fact that you have actually made a Christmas Card. I love making Christmas Cards so much that I did not really put away my Christmas crafting supplies. I told myself I would make cards all year long and here it is April and I have only made one! This is just darling. I remember seeing this stamp. You DH is so sweet to get this for you. The doily i perfect and I love your sprig of pine and the pine cone. Just beautiful and I love your snow ornament too!
