this started off one way and ended completely different than I had planned. Originally I had stamped the coral and fish then decided to layer color over the top along with other background stamps. Poor fish looked like it was escape from Alcatraz!
Then I took the piece that is now the background and cut a hole in it thinking it would be cute to have a rough cutout with the coral behind it and the fish swimming through the hole....dream big! no bueno.
Thankfully where I placed the hole in the background I could cover with the coral and do a clean layout.
The background was done by brushing in Ranger Distress Ink, then misting a Weathered Background stamp it lifts the color out like bleach would. You have to dry it with a heat gun but it's a cool effect. Then I stamped over that with the cheesecloth stamp.
I used copic markers to do the fish and edge the coral.
