This card is for 2 challenges.
FS217 and CAS113
FS217 Ė DandI93 aka Irene is the Featured Stamper this week. She has a lovely gallery filled with all kinds of fun creations. It was so hard to choose one! I finally chose this card http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=225161 from her gallery.
I changed the layout from horizontal to vertical, but kept the same simple layout of a matted single colored image in the center on a lightly patterned pastel background. Instead of using spellbinders, I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch to layer my image with. It just so happens that the colors in her original card are very similar to the colors for the CAS113 challenge today- to use Soft Aqua, Soft Yellow and White. I didnít intended to case her colors, except CAS113 kinda called for it.
I stamped the balloon image on white and then sponged in the clouds with Baja Breeze and then stamped the balloon again and trimmed it out and layered it up on dimensionals. While I trimming out my yellow striped balloon, it started to remind me of glory days at Opryland USA (a theme park in Nashville TN that sadly no longer exists). I spent countless hours there as a kid growing up and they used to have these yellow and white striped tents placed all around the park. So when I was making this card, it brought back lots of memories as a kid at Opryland.
Thanks for looking and Enjoy your week in the spotlight Irene!

Would you like to fly, in my beautiful balloon.........thought of this song as soon as I saw your pretty card!
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia

very pretty Mary Beth, what an awesome hot air balloon full of sweet flowers, love the punched borders. Funny, I did have the same colors on my card, I was just ahead of the game I guess. Thanks for playing in the FS this week, big hugs, Irene
