I made this card for Verve's March Get Your Diva On Challenge hostessed by Tosh. She issued the challenge to create a project using all neutrals with a splash of color to represent the arrival of Spring.
I used a splash of red and went with a bit of a nautical theme. I used the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder to represent waves. I used eyelets and linen thread as they reminded me of portholes and rope. I used a piece of knotted wire as my mast and popped up my ship and sails around the mast.
I used Karen's sketch to get me going on this fun card. I only altered the sketch a bit. I had it printed out and rotated it 180 degrees toward me, so the embellishement ended up in the bottom left hand corner of the rectangle.
Thanks for looking!

What a cool card! I like how you threaded the twine through the eyelets to make your frame. Love your combo of patterns and texture for the neutral with the pop of red.
