When designing a card I often use some of my materials as inspiration. In the case of this card I used the ribbon as the starting point for my card.
CARD (5.5” tall x 4.25’ wide)
Front Image: Cross embellished with greenery and a white dove
Front Sentiment: “He has risen”
Inside Sentiment: “Happy Easter”
I created the base card from blue cardstock and layered it with beige cardstock with its edge punched like lace.
For the focal point of the card, I cut out a cross and embossed it with a diamond pattern and sponged it with color to add depth. I entwined the cross in greenery and popped a multi-layered white dove on top of it.
To add interest to the card I placed the cross on a backdrop of blue, affixed a ribbon reflecting the diamond pattern in the cross, and layered on a sentiment panel. All of these elements give the card further dimension and visual depth.
For the inside panel I printed “Happy Easter” in blue ink on beige cardstock and punched the lower edge to resemble lace. I decorated the panel with a piece of the ribbon. On the right side of the ribbon I layered greenery and popped a multi-layered white dove on it.
I created a coordinating envelope from heavy white cover stock and decorated the lower left corner. I sponged blue ink as a background to the greenery and white dove that I affixed.
