First, Congrats to Lesley and Audrey winners of the A-Card-A-Me Awards and Punchkateer Extraordinaires - A big RYPH to you both.
Now to the card. Poor Little Jack Horner is sports challenged and the teaparty gals are trying to help out. I can see that we are helping plenty which makes me feel good since I am no help at all! See, I am sports challenged as well. In high school PE, I caught the football once and ran my hardest! I stopped when I saw my PE coach on the ground in a fetal position with tears running down her face. I thought she was dying so I stopped. Turns out she was laughing so hard she thought she was going to die - I was about to make a touchdown for the other team (got a bit mixed up on my direction...). Back to the story.... this tea party involves avoiding noodles and poodles and producing oodles of cards for Bobby Riddle. Bobby was burning some leaves and was seriously injured - over 65% of his body was burned. He has a long road to recovery.
Back to high school. I had a boyfriend who got together with some friends and decided they wanted to see if they could make a bomb. They were some seriously smart boys so they actually suceeded. Unfortunately, they were too close to it when it detonated and they were hurt really, really bad. My boyfriend (was really my ex when this happened but we were super good friends), was burned almost as bad as Bobby and it damaged his eyes so he is blind now. He has gone on to do really awesome things in life (way more awesome than anything I have done). So that is my wish for Bobby.
Also, if you are still with me after all my babbling, I did balloons because Bobby lives in New Mexico where balloons are plentiful. Ballooning is sport - seriously. I actually was on a balloon team for a little while when I lived in New Mexico - it was awesome (I mainly helped fold the balloon but I got to be in the basket free many times so it was worth it).

Those gem balloons are so wonderful and a great sentiment to go with them. A friend of my half-brother's who gave me coaching in maths had just his hand burned trying out explosives - boys, eh.
I was sports phobic in school too .

Great story, Nancy. And wonderful card. I considered doing hot air balloons because hubby & I were at the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Albuquerque for our 50th birthdays. My balloons would have just been run of the mill balloons, nothing like these jems. Tfs.

Nancy thanks for sharing a part of your life with us. I found it very interesting. I am not athletic either and I'm lucky to walk a straight line without tripping!!!
Your card is simply marvelous darling!!! lol I was in awe of the rhinestones that you used for the balloons....not that is one clever and striking embellishment. I know Bobby is going to love this card. It is absolutely fantastic!

Your football story had me chuckling as I can totally relate. I was never athletically inclined. I was usually picked to be the scorekeeper. Entered a race once at track meet because they had ribbons for the first five over the finish line; at that point only four were signed up to race. I probably still have that fifth place ribbon somewhere. My oldest has her phys ed degree and works as a fitness coordinator.... Go figure. Your story about your high school friend is sad in so many ways but so good to hear he overcame his injuries.
Anyway, your card is wonderful. Love the balloons and the great sentiment to go with them. Great job!!!

So glad you shared both of your stories. One to make us laugh and one to give Bobby hope. I can relate to the football story. In a swimming class I had to jump in the deep end and float on my back to the shallow end. I jumped in (terrified) with my eyes closed, put my arms in the correct position above my head and ran right into the end of the pool. i was going the wrong direction! The instructor had to put the long pole in the water for me to grab while everyone tried not to laugh. I would like to say I was a small child but I was in college!
Back to your card which is perfect for the N.M. area. Balloons abound especially in the Fall. Like your use of the music sheet.

Very uplifting card! Thanks for sharing your sports blunder story. Guess you can be glad it was before YouTube... or we'd all be viewing your embarrassment. I hope you share the story of your high schools friends with Bobby... it has a good and inspiring message.
