Today is World Rare Disease Day.
I made this card to raise awareness about my condition, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It's a rare genetic connective tissue disorder. Our mascot (if you will, like the pink ribbon is to breast cancer) is the Zebra. Dr's are taught in medical school to think and look for the normal things that are wrong, like "horses", not something rare like "zebra's"# There's a saying in the medical field, "when you hear hoofbeats think horses, not zebra's..." Well, us EDS'ers like to say, "when you hear hoofbeats, it might actually be a zebra..." =)
If you'd like to help support me and raise awareness for EDS, wear something Zebra or Zebra Print today# Or better...make a Zebra Card and share it with me=)
