Ok, so coloring metal with alcohol inks isn't my forte, but I gave it a go anyway. I used the Sizzix butterfly die for the main focal point, cut out of recycled soda cans (love doing that!) and embossed them to give some added interest. I inked them up with blue, green, and purple alcohol inks. Once they had dried, I went over the embossed portion lightly with blending fluid to remove the ink so it would stand out more. I stapled the 2 butterflies together and then poofed up the wings on the upper layer. I added pearls to the body and curled some wire for her antennae. She's now happily at home on a prima flower and will be fun to wear as a unique pin with a white cotton shirt and blue jeans!

Okay, Sarah, this is so pretty I actually squealed when I saw it! Way to GO, girl-- what a beautiful and creative use of the altered metal technique. I'd say coloring metal with alcohol inks is DEFINITELY your forte! I love this!
