I'm very late, but finally was able to sit down today to make a card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. This week's card is going to Lauren in Westland, Michigan - yeah Michigan!! She is an aspiring and very talented young actress who is dealing with some health issues right now. You can read more about it here . This week we are also celebrating the Academy Awards with our own A-Card-A-Me Awards.
I stamped the girl and gents with Memento black then colored with copics, then used silver gel pen and Stickles for the lady's jewels and belt. Used the Versamarker and clear heat embossed. Did the same for the car, but used Memento London Fog and SU Basic Gray ink then colored with Copics before using Versmarker and Clear embossing. Next drew, colored and clear embossed the curb and red carpet. Next stamped with black the cobblestones on the side of the carpet and clear heat embossed. Then stamped the building silhouettes with Basic Gray and London Fog and colored the windows with Copics, used Versamarker and clear embossed. Then stamped the street stones in black and colored with Copics. Colored the sky with Copics and used white gel pen very lightly for the stars and used Versamarker and clear embossed. On a separate piece of Neenah white stamped in Memento black the columns and colored with Copics and then Versamarker and clear heat embossed. Cut out and cut off one side of each column and mounted on sides of scene with dimensionals. Mounted whole scene on black then burnished silver then sparkle cream paper.
The trick with the masking is using clear heat embossing as the part of the image that doesn't belong can be easily wiped off the clear embossing with a paper towel or soft cloth.

WOW... what an amazing red carpet scene! LOVE how you combined all those stamps! Using color on only the carpet and dress is absolutely brilliant... such a dramatic effect! Lauren will flip over this one!

Okay Auntie! You just blow me away with your creative and fun cards! Now those two gents are so debonaiire (is that how you spell that fancy word?). I love that she is in color and they are in black and white...the way it should be! These three are quite the talk of the red carpet.....wowza...this card rocks! I am happy for you that a fellow Michiganer is getting this card! Lauren will be so impressed, tickled and encouraged! Awesome..so glad you came in the late gate!
What an absolutely gorgeous, elegant, lovely card and the fancy lady stands out just like she should. Very creative with the select colors against the black and white. Lovely.
