Hi! This card was made for todayÂ’s Free For All Challenge: Aloha Friday. It also fits this weekÂ’s StampinÂ’ BÂ’s Challenge to use a flower on a card.
We’ve been through more drama at our house. Markie was taken back to the hospital. We were there for HOURS, again, this time just for tests. He was such a trooper when it came to giving blood samples. At first he panicked, took one look at me and started to scream when he saw the needle. I had to get Mark into the room, with the nurse who was really angry that Markie was SCREAMING at her. Well…to be honest, the child is ADHD, and he has not taken his meds in over a week. So, I didn’t blame him for not having any control. But, when Mark looked in his eyes and said, “Listen, your grandmother was very frightened to have blood drawn, but she did it almost EVERY day, and she NEVER screamed. And, you, buddy, need to remember that she can now SEE you acting like this.” Markie sat quietly and the nurse drew his blood. After, when Markie had to give her a “different sample,” she asked what we were talking about to calm down Markie. Mark looked her in the eye and said, “The sweetest, kindest, most loving person I have ever known was my Mother –in-law. She died at Christmas.” He turned and his face was covered in tears. That man is the BEST person I have EVER known! Kinda makes you jealous that you didn’t meet him first, right? LOL
The image and sentiment was stamped in AdirondackÂ’s Pitch Black. I used a punched circle as a mask and sponged in the sun. Next, I used my Copic Airbrush create the sky and grass. The flower is a Martha Stewart punch that was sponged in.
Finished card size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
