Just as a little background, I started quilting about 12 years ago. There were these quilts that were called Stack n' Whack and I incorporated the method (somewhat) for this card. I have never used a paper trimmer to cut cardstock/DP for my cards. I was so used to using my quilting ruler and rotary cutter, that I naturally just carried on the habit when it came to cardmaking. The neat thing about Stack n' Whack is that you start with 5 pieces (all the same size 5 x 4 1/4") of design paper. While all 5 pieces of DP are stacked you then use a ruler and a rotary cutter to make 4 angled cuts. There is no set measurement for cutting on these angles, you just "eyeball" it and cut. Then you can "puzzle" together the layout for five A2 cards using the various pieces. The cardstock that you use for your card, ends up being the "grouting" as it appears between the stack n' whacked pieces. For a different look, you can use just 2 different types of design paper, and have 2 of one kind in your stack and 3 of the other kind. Layer as such A/B/A/B/A. The result is not your conventional patchwork quilt, but interesting just the same. I hope you'll try this method, it's really lots of fun.
