Stamped coasters for my husband's coworkers Christmas gifts. Most are shown in this picture. I actually made about 20. I am excited to make some more after the holidays (now that I feel like I know what I am doing).
I used two different types of tile for the coasters & found each had their good and bad points. With the Bottachino tiles I used the Adirondack Alcohol Inks and tinted the tiles various shades of tan/brown/caramel. That was fun! On those tiles I could also wipe off mistakes using felt soaked in rubbing alcohol, as long as I stamped with anything except StazOn. The bad part was that I found the inks didn't really get "set" on these tiles, even after baking for 30 mins. at 350. Had to be VERY careful spraying the sealant, as the ink could run (& did on two!).
The other type of tiles were Travertine & I used dye-based ink on those with no problem. That expanded my color options, but no second chances on them, either. Both kinds of tile available at Lowe's. I only found the Travertine at Home Depot.
My favorite is the little s'mores snowman in the top row!

Thanks for the helpful advice. I just picked up a stack of Bottachino tiles and was hoping to play with them after Christmas. Sounds like I have to be really careful. Yours look great!
