Our TSC this week was to make a card with something "not in nature". Given by Evil Mom Braticus. I must say I was a bit challenged to determine exactly what she meant and decided Man Made was OK. So I got out a favorite stamp and using a clear embossing on black method I learned from Michelle Zindorf's Blog this is what I came up with. Michelle always has such fine tutorials and this one is absolutely stunning IRL. I used the paisly background stamp with Versa Mark ink and stamped on black CS. Clear embossed with a heat gun. Then stamped the windmill using Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I also stamped the image on a post-it-note (another technique I learned from Michelle) and tore it out to use as a mask. Masking off the windmill, I stamped another paisly stamp over the windmill. Added a few brads with swirls that sort of echoed the windmill action. Michelle is right, clear embossing on black is beautiful. I hope my scanner captured enough of the effect for you to see.

Yikes, this is amazing Tater! Love how you explain everything you did here. Sounds like alot of work, but gee, does it ever look fabulous. I can see the black embossed cardstock fine! Love what you created my dear. Look like La Brat is up to her evil tricks again. I may have to swing by Seattle after all, try and calm her down a bit. LOL

This is really cool, Tater!! I love that you explained how to do it too!! Something I definitely want to try someday!!! Looks like a part of the Texan scenery that is part of your life -
Well, you did a bang up job of Brat Girl's challenge - you are going to have to wait on mine - took a friend out and spent the better part of the day, watching her enjoy it, and tonight I have to go to a crop, so my card will not be here till tomorrow sometime!! See ya then - Kudos on this rustic looking card though - love it!! lymi!

Oh WOW! This is gorgeous. That clear on black IS beautiful. I really like your flourishes with touches of color around the windmill too. When I see windmills, I think of you now.

Sahweet, I have always liked this windmill and I love when you do your Zindorf cards. They are always beautiful. The brads look really great with the black embossed paper.
